A beautiful, Etruscan style black Bucchero pitcher. Bucchero is a class of ceramics that were produced in central Italy in the regions of the pre-Roman Etruscan population and is derived from the Latin word meaning "drinking vessel." There is a slight hair-line crack on the lip.

This Mod Tall Vase is one of a collection of three designed by Ray Booth.  Combining natural oak elements with classical ceramic shapes in matte egg shell finish, each vase is designed to work alone or in combination.  As you can see, the Mod Tall vase can certainly stand on its own.

This Mod short vase was designed by Ray Booth who drew inspiration from French sculptor Brancusi.  One of three different designs, each Mod vase juxtaposes natural oak with classic ceramic shapes in matte egg shell finish. The Nopales Cachepot, shown here, is the creative work of Brooklyn-based potter/sculptor Nicholas Newcomb.  The matte white earthenware vessel is designed to disguise ordinary household flower pots from view.  The name is derived from the Nopales Cacti that the cachepot mimics.  Available in small, medium and large in matte white and black finishes.

The Cloudy Butterflies Vase, shown here, is the co-creation of super model Claudia Schiffer and the artisans at Bordallo Pinheiro.  Inspired by her love of butterflies in the English countryside, the earthenware vase features an array of brightly colored butterflies waiting to take flight.  Made in Portugal.

This size was originally made for Barkåkra Church in Ängelholm, in southern Sweden, where my grandfather, Karl Erik Torssell, is buried. It was from him I learned this profession. The church wall sconce gives a beautiful shine and is handmade in brass and have later been tinned. As the pewter (tin) is soft and sensitive to heat,  the base, made of brass, will stand for safety if you forget to blow out the candle.This product you don’t need to polish. Just wash it with lukewarm water if needed.

Beautiful Swedish hammered pewter candle sconce by metalsmith Malin Appelgren Paulsson. Malin apprenticed with her grandfather who designed sconces for King Gustav V in the early 1930’s.

Artist Bio:

Ron Reisman has worked in all aspects of glass art since the early 1980’s . An accomplished artist, with extensive training at prestigious institutions including the Studio of the Corning Museum of Glass, Salem College and the Pittsburgh Glass Center, he maintains a professional studio in Southern New Jersey, not far from his hometown of Philadelphia. His dedication to pursuing the most challenging form of kiln work, glass casting, led him to establish his Nine Day Wonder Studio in 2000, and his pieces are in private collections and select galleries. His latest endeavor, a line of beautiful crystal medallion sculptures, represents the culmination of years of technical experimentation, experience and expertise with this most difficult medium.

Handmade in Brooklyn, NY by artist Nicholas Newcomb, this earthenware bowl has a tripod base and can also be hung as decorative art.

These delightful decorative clay bowls were discovered on a recent buying trip in France.  The bowls are hand-glazed in a variety of colorful patterns on a ground color of either green or blue.  There are fifteen bowls to choose from and many have hanging features on back.  We don't expect these to last long.  Decorative use only.

These hand-woven baskets are made with natural tinted elephant grass. They are tightly woven for durability and offer an unusual bit of whimsy with their loose, "furry" tops.

The Drum Basket, shown here, is one of several new additions to our collection of hand-made imported baskets.  The traditional drum shape with black rim is entirely hand-woven using elephant grass (or veta vera) that is tinted beforehand.   The design and size makes it perfect for many uses from holding rolled towels in the bathroom to corralling toys in the kids room.  One-of-a-kind from Ghana.
