Vintage Indian Bronze Urli from Kerala

These beautiful pots are used for cooking and serving food. Temples and families commission them for special occasions. The handles have beautiful ornamentation. Rods are inserted through the sides so they can be picked up and placed on the fire.
Artisans use the ancient Lost Wax method to make these amazing pots. The designs are very old and have been passed down for generations, which makes them hard to date. This one is over 100 years old and has wondrous patina from years of use.
